Ideas for print

"There was a time when it was thought that design has an important roles in society. It could tell people meaningful information or try to improve our ways of living. Today we seem to have forgotten that design has this possibility. The kind of work that designers seek are the ones for the coolest sport companies, not the one that will most effect on society or add most to culture. It is time for designers to realize that design is not just something 'cool' and that design is also not just about money. We need to take our profession seriously and engage in cultural and critical discussion about what we are doing and aiming for." Jonathan Barnbrook

Aim:
A. Design four different compositions using the same text at the same size, but exploring alignment,       letter spacing, leading and negative space.

B. Use the type from one of your 'A' compositions. Take one word from that text and, using it to create four new different compositions which combine both the 'A' text and the new element. May use color for  'B' compositions.
